Arkansas: Sarah Sanders’s Plan to Put It On The Map

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—Less than one month into her first term as Arkansas governor, Sarah Sanders was tapped to deliver the Republican response to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union, a speaking slot typically granted to rising stars in the party with the intent to elevate them onto the national stage. But stepping onto the national stage doesn’t appear to be Sanders’s goal—at least for now.

In her address, Sanders used Arkansas to illustrate the efforts of Republicans across the country. Sanders stated that Republicans in Arkansas and all across America are working to end the practice of putting children in failing schools and threatening their future.  We will educate our children, not indoctrinate them, and set them on the path to success.

In an hour-long interview with the White House press secretary, she dodged questions about 2024 and instead focused on Arkansas.

Already, Sanders has tangible accomplishments to point at. Just one month after her State of the Union reply, the Arkansas legislature passed Sanders’s signature legislation.
