Having just come out of a campaign in which a major part of the platform – indeed, perhaps “the” platform was investigating Hunter Biden and the Biden White House, only to find that not only did it not resonate with the voters, the party got punished significantly with an undeniable message in what can only be termed as a midterm “loss.”
Jim Jordan calls a press conference to announce the Hunter Biden investigation will be underway immediately after he has taken the whip in the House Oversight Committee. This seems like the most stupid political move in history, but it is only when one looks at it through a political lens.
That’s the wrong lens, according to the Washington Post’s Phillip Bump. You have to look at it through the popular kids’ lens on Fox News and Right-wing media. You can’t stay on TV if you are the attack dog. It doesn’t matter if you lose elections.

With Republicans controlling the House in 2013, 2014, and a host of investigations into the terrorist attacks on Benghazi, Libya in September 2012, there was a lot of activity. That story drew a lot of attention on Fox News itself; there was an often-explicit feedback loop between the network and the focus of the investigations.”
