A private school in Las Vegas is recalling its yearbooks after administrators found that a senior used a quote from the founder of the American Nazi Party in its pages.

The Meadows School in Summerlin requested students return their 2022-23 yearbooks due to a senior page featuring a saying attributed to founder of the American Nazi Party George Lincoln Rockwell, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The page obtained by the outlet shows an image of the student alongside the quote “Being prepared to die is one of the great secrets of living.”

Although the student submitted the line with anonymous attribution, it actually stems from a 1966 interview by “Roots” author Alex Haley of Rockwell, who coined the slogan “white power,” the Review-Journal noted.

Also on the page, the unidentified student answered the question “How can I influence others?” with “Take over the country.”

As of Thursday, there were conflicting reports about whether the student had been asked to leave the $31,000-per-year academy or would be permitted to graduate.
