An OECD team led by Mr Sergio Arzeni, Director of the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs and Local Development visited Sydney on 5-6 December 2011 to launch two OECD reports:
These reports were produced by the OECD as part of a worldwide study on the impacts of climate change on employment and local development, and the creation of sustainability-focused jobs. The global report uses innovative learning models worldwide, including case studies on green clusters, restructuring old industries, leadership at the local level, and local innovation.
Metropolitan Sydney London (UK), Extremadura in Spain (Spain), and Podlaskie, Pomorskie (Poland) were also included. In 2010, the OECD sent a team with experts to Sydney to conduct research, meet with education and industry experts and survey local companies. They have been working together to strengthen the partnership and are now looking for ways to expand the partnership with other partners in Sydney.
