There’s a stunning picture out of Qatar right now.
The picture shows the Iranian foreign minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, meeting with the leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Doha, Qatar on Saturday evening.

You can see the video was shot by the Tasnim News Agency, which is a government outlet connected to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
But yeah, no involvement, right? What does this move say? The foreign minister isn’t shy even about embracing the Hamas leader. I don’t think you can be any clearer about the involvement here. It doesn’t look like they’re trying to chastise them for their actions. Is Iran finally ripping the mask off, and coming out of the closet, not hiding their involvement anymore since this came from an official Iranian source?
This follows an Iranian threat that they would become “involved” if the Israelis launched a ground offensive in Gaza. They’re trying to back the Israelis down, probably knowing that the Biden team will cave if they keep pushing with such a threat, and they think that will put pressure on the Israelis.
